assignment Admirals Sticks Fall Even Flatter Late

The Admirals' sticks fell even flatter, this time over the final 4 innings, to let game 2 of this Wednesday night doubleheader also get away versus the Combines.

Feeling somewhat energized by their single digit loss in game 1 - hey, small victories - the Admirals felt even more energized after sitting the Combines down in order to start the game.

In the home half, the guys in black and blue scratched in 3 runs to take a 3-0 lead.

After the holding the Combines to a singleton in the 2nd, the Admirals were blanked on 4 batters faced.

In the 3rd, the Admirals again held the Combines to a singleton and managed to plate 3 more runs before a miscommunication between Jomo and the 3rd base coach resulted in Jomo being caught in a rundown between 3rd and home as the final out of the inning.

After 3 innings of play, the Admirals were up 6-2.

Unfortunately, the 3rd inning was the last time an Admiral would cross the plate.

Why, you may ask?

'Cause their sticks went flat late, again. Even flatter than game 1!

Like this flat!

Over the final 4 innings, the Admirals' sticks kept hitting to where Combine players were, as the their final 12 outs were recorded on only 16 batters faced!

Despite the Admirals' pitching and D being quite good over that span, the Combines managed to scratch in 7 more runs to eventually take this one 9-6.

Boxscore:

Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Final
Combines 0 1 1 0 3 3 1 9
Admirals 3 0 3 0 0 0 0 6
