Bob popped his cherry, and Mike was lit up on the mound against a hot slugging Pack squad as the Admirals dropped game 1 of their NSP quarter finals series 26-18.
Some new faces, all seemingly legit however, took the field for The Pack in the top of the 1st inning holding the Admirals to a single run. In their home half, the hot Pack bats slugged their way to 6 runs before the Admirals could record the 3rd out.
After blanking the Admirals in the 2nd, the Pack plated another 3 to go up by 8.
In the 3rd, the Admirals finally strung some hits together to cut their deficit in half, and held The Pack to a singleton.
Another 4 in the top of 4, capped by Bob's line drive over the right-center field fence, and the Admirals were only down by one.
With a preset lineup intended to give The Pack batters a different look at pitch in the 4th & 5th innings, enter Mike, aka Poutine, aka Terminator Pouenke, aka TP on the mound.
Unfortunately, the move proved to be disastrous as The Pack batters feasted on Mike's pitches, yielding a converted touchdown in both innings.
Even with Aaron's 2-run in the 5th, their only runs scored in the inning, the guys in black and blue were down by 13 after 5 innings of play.
With the umpire's warning of possible last inning, the Admirals, in serious need of putting up a number, posted a lowly donut.
Now needing to record 3 quick outs to get the 7th inning in, the Admirals achieved the task, after conceding 2 more runs off another Pack , their 4th of the night.
As the Admirals hustled back to the dugout, talks of a comeback Dbacks style was resonating, which sparked a decent rally, but in the end, the Admirals could only scratch 7 more runs across to make the score look a little more respectable.
