Mark recorded another pitching gem on the mound and Ryan punished Mike for years of chirping as the Admirals got back to their winning ways defeating Vickery Electric in 17-4 in game 1 of this Wednesday evening doubleheader.
After swapping a run in the 1st inning, the Admirals escaped the 2nd inning unscathed with a nicely executed run down that yielded an orthodox double play.
In their home half, with Mike standing on 3rd, Ryan, tired of years of Mike's chirping, was licking his chops at giving Mike a scare and ripped a screaming a line shot down 3rd base line. Mike, faced with split decision to a) get skinny, or b) jump into foul territory, elected to go with option b). The decision proved to the wrong one as he got nailed right in the ass, which instantly left a ball sized bruise. After the laughs subsided, and the inning was done, the Admirals had plated a snowman.
Vickery narrowed the score in the 3rd, scoring 2, and holding the Admirals to none.
After allowing another run in the 4th, the Admirals got sticking again, plated 7 and built their lead to 12.
In the 5th, the Admirals again blanked the Vickery offense and had plated one, before the umpire called the game due to time.
No time to celebrate as the Admirals had the league dominating Combines on deck.
