Rookie Darrell popped his cherry in a career best night at the plate (well so far, anyway) and Morgan and Mitch made some highlight grabs in the field as the Admirals built their current win streak to 6.
In the first game of the second part of the NSP regular season schedule, the Admirals faced The Pack, the team they were playing during the infamous team tossing game.
After a quick chat between the team reps to ensure there'd be no lingering effects from that infamous game and the game was on.
The game started as a pitcher's duel with the score knotted at 2 after 3 innings of play.
In the 4th and 5th innings, now facing each other's pitcher for the 2nd time, both teams strung enough hits together for the Admirals to plate 7 runs vs. the 5 from The Pack, to make the score 9-7 for the guys in black and baby blue.
In the 6th, the Admirals could only plate 2 runs thanks to Darrell's to left center which put the team up by 4. Unfortunately, they gave all 4 runs back in the home half of the inning off 3 bombs from The Pack's #2, #5 and #6 hitters to knot the score at 11.
In the 7th, some Admirals patience at the plate combined with some key hits cashed 6 runs capped by two clutch 2 RBI singles by Andrew and Darrell.
In the bottom half, with 3 runs in, runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs facing The Pack's #3 hitter (and The Pack's #4, #5, and #6 hitters, who had gone yard at least once each already, on deck), the tension was palpable.
As palpable perhaps as those titties from the video Derek shared on WhatsApp, but I digress.
Thankfully however, Mike was able to grab the hard hit grounder back at the mound to throw out the runner at 1st and record the final out for the Admirals to hold on to 17-14 win.
No time to celebrate as the Admirals had a Dbacks team on deck chomping at the bit to avenge the outcome of their previous game.
