With a 3-9 Vickery Electric taking on a 9-4-1 Ugly Ducklings and 10-3 Admirals in their Thursday night doubleheader, Dougothy Casino had the odds of them sweeping this 2-game tilt at a very enticing 100:1.
After Vickery upset the Ducks in game 1, Timmer's squad was looking make all who bet that parlay extremely happy.
Before the game started, a good humoured ump, Marlon, warned the Admirals they could see him doing antics seen in this classic clip from The Naked Gun movie:
Man, he was not kidding!
The game started with Vickery jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead, thanks in large part to a Timmer oppo-taco shot that landed him a stand up triple.
The Admirals responded with a goose egg thanks to some highlight catches by the Electric defense.
With a stable of savvy left-handed batters, Vickery got right back at it in the 2nd, placing shots where Admirals were not, and plated another 4 runs before the guys in black and light blue could record 3 outs.
In the home half of the 2nd, the Admirals finally got on the board, scoring 2, to make the score 6-2.
The teams swapped a run in the 3rd inning which ended on a bang-bang DP involving a Poutine line shot to 1st that doubled off DC who was steps off the bag.
In the 4th, some more Vickery dinking and dunking led to 3 more runs and now down 10-3, the Admirals felt time was running out.
Needing a spark, Jomo delivered, himself going oppo-taco that yielded an inside-the-park-home-run which led to a 6-run inning that ended on a Poutine oppo-taco deep fly to left.
Down 1, the Admirals took the field in the umpire-called-NOT-last-inning. After sitting the 1st two batters down in order, the stubborn Vickery sticks kept chipping and plated 2 more runs to build a 3 run lead.
In the bottom of 5, sparked by back-to-back triples by Beatty (!!!) and Dunner, the Admirals sticks got going which led to a 7-run inning that ended on a Poutine line drive to 1st (seeing the pattern yet?).
Now up 4, the Admirals took the field in the umpire-called-last-inning in hopes of shutting down the savvy Vickery sticks.
Following a lead off single and a fly to right, the Admirals ended the game on a nice double play that saw Graham snag a line shot near 2nd who then doubled off the runner at 1st.
After being together for 3 consecutive nights, you find out some things about your teammates during post-game bevies. Take for example a tournament team called the Cobras you never want to face.
Well after Antonio shared his Miami Vice suit wearing fight story where he was apparently swung around a parking lot by his ponytail (hard to picture Antonio with a ponytail, I know) and seeing some were expecting something about it in yesterday's game recap, I just couldn't let my fans down:

The umpire was in his own little world but clearly enjoyed what he was doing and call a very clean and consistent game, and despite anyone's opinion of the call he was at least right there to make it.
I was at times a little nervous back there in a Buffalo Bill Silence if Lambs kind of way, but turned out to be super funny and animated which made the game a more entertaining.

Love this recaps from last night, you captured almost all the elements from the games and parking lot.
Although you didn't make mention of the pitchers glove. It had to have been the biggest mitt I've ever seen!

And the fact that Poutine committed to only consuming a single beer before calling it a night.
Poutine, what time was it when you left the park last night? 10:15, 10:30???

Jomo, right! I completely forgot about THE glove. For those who missed last night's games, here's a visual on that:

Well I’m such a team player , I heard Jomo’s beef of not batting leadoff I decided to give him the leadoff spot in 3 innings on purpose#teamplayer. Then feeling bad I decided to stay until 12:30 once again so Jomo and Dunn weren’t the only ones left at the end of the night.
