Finally, it was time to answer the question that nobody was asking. “How would the Admirals respond to their first loss of the season?” Well, it didn’t take long to find out. After suffering a walk-off defeat, the Admirals quickly regrouped for the second game of a double header, this one against the Pirates.

Everyone could sense the respect and comrade that was shared between these two teams. Naturally, there are quite a few similarities between Pirates and Admirals, so it made sense that this game was a very tight battle that was in doubt until the final out.

With a senior executive (RE: very good stripper) from Rudan Holdings Ltd (also owners of the Sundowner Gentleman’s Club) serving as an Undercover Boss, the Admirals failed to impress early, prompting the Undercover Boss to note “Not a team that can go all night. Not a lot of stamina here. Seems to be a one-shot group of guys”

Down 7-3 after 5 innings, the Admirals seemed destined to take the “L” again.

Los Vegas casinos were losing their minds. A casino always knows where its biggest exposure is, and this reporter can confirm that many Los Vegas casinos were exposed on a three-pick parlay that had:

1) Beautiful Ducklings beating the Admirals
2) Pirates beating the Admirals
3) Indiana Fever beating Chicago Sky (in WNBA)

That parlay paid 14 to 1!

Luckily for Vegas sportsbooks, the Admirals were able to dig deep (again) and rally to score five in the 6th inning (highlighted by Dean Kirkey’s bases loaded double) and another two runs in the 7th.

In the bottom of the 7th, the Admirals held a slim 10-8 lead and made the call to the bullpen bringing in Paul “Better of the Two Labrecques” Labrecque to nail down the save.

After recording two quick outs, the Pirates were able to reel off 3 hits in a row, cashing one run and bringing the tying run to second base.

After shaking off 3 or 4 signs from his catcher, Paul “Better of the Two Labrecques” Labrecque fired the pitch he wanted and induced a game ending ground ball.

Statistical Shout Outs

Jomo “Call Me Triples” Hanley Clearly STILL trying to impress the “Undercover Boss” Jomo went 2-2 with a pair of triples, a walk and a sac-fly. When asked after the game if he thought the Admirals were upset about their previous loss Jomo had the following to say. “Two wins, two losses, one win, zero wins….the number to talk about is three. I hit three triples tonight. That’s the number that matters. My numbers!”

Andrew “Cold As Ice” Graham had a good batting line, going two for two with a pair of singles and a walk, but more importantly he had the line of the night during the post game press conference. Upon being told the Sundowner “Undercover Boss” said “I’d like to give that Andrew Graham a contract.”, Andrew quipped back “Are you guys sure she said contract? I’m pretty sure she meant to say that she wanted to give me something else.” To which post game press conference all-star Jay Goodwin commented “Ya, I think she said disease…she wants to give him a disease, not a contract.”

Team Fines:
Jay G: $5 (FK)
Antonio: $5 (hitting into inning ending double play)
Graham: $5 (stranding a runner at 3B with less than 2 outs)

The team fund sincerely thanks you for your contributions! :)
