assignment Admirals Get Walked Off to Snap Winning Streak
Wednesday 8:00PM June 28th, 2017For a brief period of time (2009 – 2013), Undercover Boss was a moderately unpopular TV show that featured senior executives working “undercover” in their own companies to investigate how their firms really work and to reward hard-working employees.
Unbeknownst to the Admirals, Undercover Boss was happening to them on Wednesday night as they battled the Beautiful Ducklings. As some people know, the Admirals are actually owned by Rudan Holdings Ltd (also owners of the Sundowner Gentleman’s Club).
That’s right! A senior executive (RE: very good stripper) was in disguise and vigilantly taking notes throughout the Admirals double header.
The Admirals were “36-24-36” red hot to start the game, plating six runs in the top of the first inning – prompting a certain “Undercover Boss” to say “Look at these hunks work, I haven’t been this excited since they started letting us dress like Nuns at the club”
Unfortunately for the Admirals, they only scored two runs over the next 5 innings – prompting a certain “Undercover Boss” to say “so soft, so feeble, UGH, this Admirals line up is more limp than the time we did a promotional deal with the residents from the Niagara Falls Retirement Home.”
Down 11-9 heading into the top of the 7th inning, the Admirals needed to rally.
Here is something that is really enjoyable about the Admirals – rallies just happen. Nobody yells, Nobody tells everyone to “get their head in the game”, Nobody coaches other people on what to do in their next at-bat – The Admirals just play baseball.
In the top of 7, the Admirals scored 5 runs. It was magical, it was wonderful, it was exciting – it was short-lived! The Beautiful Ducklings were able to rise to the occasion scoring 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the 7th to win the game 15-14.
Statistical Shout Outs
Jomo “Stop Asking Me How Old I Am” Hanley had a terrific night at the ballpark. Clearly he recognized the “Undercover Boss” and he was looking to impress her – batting 3-4 with a single, a double, a triple and 2 RBI
Dean “I Play Better When My Family Is Here” Kirkey deserves a shout out for hitting a HR, but more so, because he is an absolute beast in the outfield chasing down fly-balls and turning extra base hits into outs. His “DRS” Defensive Runs Saved” stat is currently 11.6
Mike “Poutine” Labrecquegets a shout out for going 2-3 with a single, a triple and a walk. Seems like pretty average stats right? That’s why I’m pointing them out. Poutine will be kicking himself knowing that he had such an average performance with a genuine Sundowner stripper in his presence. I know what you’re thinking: performing average in front of a stripper is probably the best Poutine has ever done.
Jay G: $5 (stranding a runner at 3B with less than 2 outs)
