In game 1 of what should have been game 2 of the Admirals double header, they faced a tough Ugly Ducklings squad.

The Ducklings jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead but the Admirals countered nicely plating 4 runs in their bottom half of the 1st inning.

The teams then swapped a run in the 2nd and donuts in the 3rd which allowed the Admirals to maintain their slim 2 run lead.

In the 4th, the Ducklings broke out for a 5 run inning and the Admirals could only get 2 back in their bottom half giving the Ducklings an 8-7 lead.

The Ducklings plated 2 more in the top of 5 and held the Admirals to another donut to give them a 10-7 lead going into what was going to be the final inning.

Needing a good defensive inning, the Admirals D tightened keeping the unsightly baby ducks off the scoreboard.

That's when master motivational speaker Poutine rallied the troops with a speech that will be remembered forever:

"Hey guys, did I tell you about that time I poured beer over Dunner's wife?

[ INSERT SOUND OF CRICKETS HERE ]

Yeah, good times! Anyways, fellas, 6 singles here and we win!"

Well it didn't quite go down like that, but after a quick out followed by back-to-back-to-back doubles and a customary Tim-single-turned-into-double, the Admirals had tied the score with one out and an opportunity for a walk-off win.

A walk and an FK later, and up came the (much) quieter Labrecque brother for an opportunity to be a hero.

Seeing this beat writer was not there to witness this game, from the accounts provided by his 'lil bro, I pictured Paul at the plate l looking something like this --------->

Amidst the nervous shaking, Paul delivered hitting a clutch single to cash Tim, pinch running for baby bro Labrecque, from 2nd for the walk-off win.

No time to celebrate as the Admirals had to get ready to play game 2 of what should have been game 1 of their double header next.
